Founding Partner of Windmill International Hotels and Resorts.

CEO Windmill Hotels and Resorts

Born in German Bob has been involved in hotel operations for many years. As Vice President of Executive House Inc., Bob oversaw operations of twelve full service hotel properties and resorts in the United States and Caribbean generating over 35 million in sales. He has worked with all the Major Brands Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, Omni and has also managed Historic landmark properties Blackstone Hotel in Chicago.

While at Executive House Bob developed a strong relationship with the Golden Tulip brand and president, years later he helped with the growth of the brand in the US & Caribbean before they went into receivership. He was a Regional Operations Manager during the startup of Suburban Lodges and managed a portfolio of 16 properties in the Midwest.

His entrepreneurial spirit to grow a sustainable hotel company was started at the Cornell University Summer CPD Programs where he met many European Hotel managers. He connected with several managers and wanted to help grow some of hotel brands companies in the United States. He created hotels concepts that he passed on to his European colleges at Movenpick Hotels for a new concept called Swiss Suites and worked to find a joint venture partner for them in the United States. Bob also worked with Swiss based Minotel and also launched efforts to partner with Stratus hotel in South African to grow in the Americas. He was actively involved a new European brand concept called “The Château”. For many years he has focused on the issue of sustainability not satisfied with just Leeds certification or Energy Star ratings as the measure of sustainability.

Windmill International Hotels and Resorts represents a fresh look at hotel operations not at just the energy usage but how you can provide the best service with the smallest Eco footprint. Windmill is looking at service and sustainability in a totally new pyridine a fresh wind of change in management and franchising in hospitality.

He strongly believes that satiability is the direction that hospitality must take not only because it’s right but that properly implementation of technology can improve hotel profitability. Having worked with many of the brands he believes that many have lost their direction with both management and franchising. Brands are more concerned with revenue stream than actually partnering with owners or asset managers.
